Angel Series, Rome, 1977-1978
Went to see the Woodman expo today. It was an elaborate retrospective, which in itself is special since she was 22 when she died. Her work has a bit of a cult status at my uni, probably because of the dark nudity and suicide. She killed herself during a depression because of a lack of recognition and a broken relationship. Strangely enough she seems more popular then ever. The expo made me sad, could not just watch the photo’s, just kept looking for signs of disaster to come or something.
